What is Crossfit

What is CrossFit??

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program designed to improve all aspects of fitness. We want to be good at everything – we’re greedy like that.

CrossFit training is massively varied. Every day is something different. One day you might be doing a high intensity circuit, another day a heavy weightlifting movement or long distance run. Other days they will all be put together. Basic Gymnastics is also an integral part of CrossFit training. Nothing builds strength and control like gymnastics and it will not be uncommon for you to be climbing ropes or using gymnastics rings in our gym.

CrossFit is a deliberate attempt to optimise physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains.

They are:

  • Cardiovascular and Respiratory endurance
  • Speed
  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Power
  • Stamina
  • Coordination
  • Agility
  • Balance
  • Accuracy
  •

A deficiency in any of these aspects of fitness will result in a decrease in your athletic potential.

A good CrossFit athlete may not be the best at any one particular skill, but they’ll be close. When it comes down to it, would you rather just be able to do one thing? Or would you like to be able to do everything?

Who can do CrossFit?
Anyone who is committed to improving their health and well being. All levels of fitness and ability are welcome. We can cater to everyone from elite athletes to first time gym users.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind.
